Women's Softball OTAGO BEATS CANTERBURY
Extra Innings Needed In the final women’s softball games of the season, Canterbury lost to Otago by one run on Saturday. The game went to two extra innings before Otago gained the winning run. Canterburv scored its first runs in the third innings when a hit by E. Leask brought in two runners. In the last innings Canterbury was one run behind but scored on a good hit by B. Makinson. Canterbury could not score in the two extra innings but N. Barnes scored for Otago from a hit by A. McCammon.
Canterbury out-batted Otago by seven hits to five but Otago was steadier in the field and deserved its win.
In a senior B match. Canterbury proved too strong in its games against Otago and North Otago and the Canterbury Collegiate team beat Otago convincingly.
