JEWELLERY THEFT
£lOOO In Rings And Money (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. March 28. ' More than £lOOO in diamond ' rings and monjy was stolen from Broadway Jewellers (New Lynn) Ltd., at the! Lynnmall shopping centre on| Saturday night when intruders broke into eight business! premises and attempted to break into another. In each case, the thieves smashed in plate-glass doors to reach the lock inside. Damage is expected to mount to hundreds of pounds. The rings and money were taken from the safe of the jeweller’s shop. A shoe store, a frock shop, a pharmacy, the Lynnmall management office, a food shop, a tobacconist’s and an electrical shop were also entered. It is not yet known how much stock has been taken from the stores, but each was searched for money and small amounts were taken from some.
