He would be required to spend a few months as a Salesman during which time he would learn not only how to sell, but would be given training as a Sales Supervisor. During this period he would be on a retainer of not less than £lOOO pa. and would be given a bonus on business obtained over a readily attainable quota. These bonuses could be substantial and might well be greater than the salary itself. As soon as his training was complete his salary would be increased to £1560 p.a. with a bonus arrangement which would enable him to earn double that amount, or more, if he were reasonably successful. He should for preference be a good salesman, and as Supervisor he would be required to spend practically all his time with his Team of up to a dozen salesmen, training and encouraging them In the field.
