Sale Of Merit Friesians
Twenty-one merit Friesian female cattle from the registered herds of E. C. SunckeU and Son and E. L. Adams, of Brookside, were sold at an average price of 116.1gns when the annual sale of the Welburn and Pitcairns merit Friesians was held at the Leeston saleyard on Thursday.
Eleven Pitcairn Friesians entered by Mr Adams sold from 60gns to 230gns, with three sales of 200gns or more being recorded. The 11 females averaged 144.09gn5. The top priced female was sold to H. O. Haylock. of Barrys Bay. The 10 Welburn cattle sold on account of Messrs Sunckell and Son averaged Ss.sgns. One female and the only bull in the entry were passed at auction.
The sale was conducted by the New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Association, in association with the Farmers’ Stud Book Company, Ltd., and Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd.
