Chelsea’s Run Ended By Liverpool In F.A. Cup

LONDON, March 28. Liverpool, last season’s English League soccer champion, took a step nearer an ambitious double when it beat Chelsea, 2-0, on Saturday, to reach the final of the F.A. Cup competition. Liverpool also reached the semi-finals of the European Cup on Wednesday on the toss of a coin, after three matches against F. C. Cologne (Germany) had tailed to produce a result. Its English Cup final opponent will not be known until Wednesday at the earliest. Manchester United and Leeds played a goalless draw in the other semi-final and will replay at Nottingham on Wednesday.
A similar situation exists in the Scottish Cup competition. Dunfermline beat Hibernian. 2-9, to reach the final, but the other seml-flnallsts, Celtic and Motherwell, drew, 2-2, and will have to replay.
