Red Cross At Cashmere
Miss A. Bonde, resettlement officer of the National Council of Churches, spoke of her work among refugees at the annual meeting of the Cashmere Red Cross subcentre.
More than 100 new garments and many second-hand garments were sent to headquarters during the year, and five baby layettes were sent to Hong Kong. Members helped with meals on wheels, distributed Christmas hampers, visited patients at Coronation Hospital, and sent flowers to residents at Langford House. The sponsorship of an Austrian girl and three Hungarian women was continued. Officers elected were:— president, Mrs W. R. Carey; vice-presidents, Mesdames R. S. Allan, R. T. Alston, W. D. Bunt, J. H.
