Five In Hospital After Accidents
Five persons were admitted to the Christchurch and Princess Margaret Hospitals during the week-end with injuries suffered in motor accidents in the Christchurch district. Six persons were treated at the Christchurch Hospital casualty department. Chest Injuries.—Kathleen Joan Lawrence, of 96 Cobra street, suffered chest injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Barrington and Cobham streets yesterday afternoon. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Bus Passengers Hurt.— When a bus was forced to brake suddenly at the corner of Antigua and Burke streets early yesterday afternoon two women passengers were injured. Vera Alice Hatcher, of 14 Manhire street, suffered head lacerations and arm injuries, and Ellen Bruce, of 3 Mac Gibbon place, suffered minor injuries. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
Car Overturns.—Head and arm injuries were suffered by David William Carlin, of 150 Peterborough street, when a car overturned in Leander street on Saturday afternoon. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Head Injuries.—Mona Isabel Andrew, of' 21 Baynes street, Burwood, suffered head injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Montreal street about 4.10 p.m. on Saturday. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Broken Leg.—A, pedestrian. John Garrick Pirie, of 74 Glandovey road, suffered a broken leg when he was struck by a car in Bealey avenue outside the Carlton Hotel about 6.10 p.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
Leg Injuries.—Raymond Allan Bloomfield, of 26 Wingate street, suffered leg injuries when two cars collided at the corner of Northcote road and Fenchurch street
about 6.15 p.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Two Persons Injured.— When two cars collided at the corner of Fitzgerald avenue and Cashel street about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday two persons were injured. Allan Storrie, of 132 Dobson street, Ashburton, was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital suffering from head injuries. Linda Storrie, of the same address, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for arm injuries.
Car Hits Pole.—Head injuries were suffered by
George Humphries, of 2 Nottingham avenue, when a car struck a pole in Moorhouse avenue about 4.50 a.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. Car Rolls Over.—Ronald Scott, of 315 Manchester street, suffered arm injuries when a car rolled over in Deans avenue, near Brockworth place, about 1.40 a.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
