From England For Wedding

(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, March 25.

A trip from Essex, England, to Karamea on the West Coast, has been made by 80-year-old Mrs Mary Cumming to honour an eight-year-old promise to attend the wedding on Saturday of her grand-daughter, Miss Susan Philpott. Mrs Camming arrived at Nelson on Monday in the Port Invercargill and continued by air to Karamea.

The only woman passenger on the steamer, Mrs Cumming was met by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs C. Philpott, of Christchurch.
