Swimmer Injured
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, March 24. The Australian Olympic swimming finalist, Kim Herform, and her mother were seriously injured in a road accident near their Sydney home yesterday.
Miss Herford was reported to have been thrown 49ft along the roadway and her mother was trapped under the wheels of the vehicle. Miss Herford fractured her right hip and her 51-year-old mother broke her right leg. Miss Herford, aged 18, was seventh in the final of the 400 metres freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics.
