Driver Wins Easily

AUCKLAND, Feb 28. An impressive debut to single-seater motor racing was made by the 29-year-old New Zealand saloon car champion, P. Fahey, of Manurewa, when he comfortably won the feature event of the sponsored national motor racing meeting at Pukekohe on Saturday. Driving a 2.5 Cooper Climax, Fahey was well ahead of the Otahuhu driver, J. Riley (2.5 Lotus) at the finish. Fahey averaged 84 miles an hour for the 17.5-mile feature event. 4 The third driver to finish was I. W. Dawson, whose 2.5 Cooper was less than half a second behind Riley.
