Milk Bank Saves Child

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) WINNIPEG (Canada). All is well with four-month-old Alexander Pappas through the generous response of mothers in Winnipeg, Manitoba. When it was revealed that Alexander could not drink cow’s milk or formula, Winnipeg Children’s Hospital set up a milk bank for the baby, who needs 40 ounces of mother’s milk each day. Twenty mothers promptly responded to the appeal, and hospitals as far away as Edmonton, Alberta, offered to collect and fly mothers’ milk to Winnipeg.
