There Was This Boat..

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright)

NORFOLK (Virginia), February 28.

When 58 miles an hour winds blew Joseph Cofer’s 16ft yacht off its mooring and out to sea, he called the Coast Guard.

A 30ft patrol boat overran the line it tried to put aboard the yacht, became entangled and capsized. A 40ft naval utility boat went to the rescue, was disabled when its clutch failed, hit bottom and sank.

A 40ft Coast Guard patrol boat finally picked up the swimming seamen ■—none injured—and towed the capsized 30footer to safety. The yacht drifted ashore undamaged.
