HAY BARN FIRES

More Bales Lost

(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Feb. 26. About 15,000 bales of hay have been lost in five barn fires in the Edgecumbe district since the beginning of the year. Edgecumbe police are investigating the blazes. The latest occurred this week when 3000 to 3500 bales were destroyed in a barn fire on the property of Mr D. J. Brophy, Awaiti road, the farm where the third fire occurred. “We have one more barn of hay left on the farm. When that goes at least we will be able to sleep peacefully,” said Mr Brophy this week.
