ANOTHER MARSDEN

Visit After Ordination

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 26. Another Samuel Marsden may preach the gospel in New Zealand in the not-too-distant future. He is the son of the Rev. R. E. Marsden, who left by air this morning after five months in New Zealand with Mrs Marsden and their two daughters. Mr Marsden, senior, came to New Zealand from his Cornwall parish to take part in the celebration of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of Christianity in the Dominion.

A service was held at Oihi Bay in the Bay of Islands, where Samuel Marsden preached his first sermon on Christmas Day, 1814.

Samuel Marsden, junior, Is in his last term at Oxford and later this year will enter the Anglican ministry. He flew to New Zealand last Christmas and stayed for several weeks.

Mr Marsden, senior, said his son wanted to come to New Zealand when he was ordained.
