BUILDING AT LINCOLN
Site Being Prepared
Preparation of the site, including drainage work, for the new £650,000 teaching block at Lincoln College has begun. Mr M. L. Paynter, governing director of M. L. Paynter Ltd., the contractors for the building, said at the weekend that it was hoped construction proner would begin about March 1.
The building of five storeys and a total area of more than 90.000 square feet will have a frontage of about 400 ft to the George Forbes Memorial Library.
Mr Paynter said plans for the job were well advanced. It was a straight-forward job. the design being similar from storey to storey yet the building would be architecturally beautiful.
The architects are W. H Trengrove and Marshall. Mr Paynter said he expected that the job would be completed in July. 1967. The new building will house all departments of the college except soil science and agricultural engineering.
