Leeston still leads the Ellesmere Cricket Sub-association i matches after another round of P. V. Bailey Memorial Cup games were played during the week-end. Chief interest lay in the per formance of a 13-year-old school boy, B. Barcock, who took five Weedons’ wickets for 26. Points are:—Leeston 32. Weedons 25. Irwell 24. Dunsandel 23. Southbridge 18, Lincoln 10 Weedons 169 for 9 declared (J. Neyer 114 not out, P. Aitken 14. P. Watson 18; B. Barcock five for 26. A. Brown three for 38) beat Dunsandel 166 (W. Scott 31, M. Frampton 70, M. Murray 29. M. Walker 20: J Aitken three for 35. P. Aitken five for 29. T. Watson two for 34) on the first innings. Leeston 214 for 9 declared (B Free 39, M. Chamberlain 62, R Taylor 29; T. McGlinchy four for 70. A. Campbell three for 45) drew with Lincoln 209 for 5 (T. McGlinchy 57. N. Wallis 65, R. King 37, A. Campbell 20: B. Free two for 52).
Irwell 145 for 5 (J. Lay 35, L. Coe 32) beat Southbridge 139 (W. Heslop 47. L. Magnus 37 not out) on the first innings.
