Profit Rises
To £27,068
Net profit of the Sydenham and Suburban Co-operative Money Club rose £3282 or 13.8 per cent to £27,068 in the year to December 31. Dividend credited to members’ account is £20,573, as well as a building bonus of £496.
After transferring £2400 to the reserve fund, £3OO to the renovation and maintenance account, £lOOO to the building reserve and £5OO to the dividend equalisation account, carry-forward is £13,911 against £12,113 brought forward. Members’ accumulated subscriptions total £420,434 (£388,770 last year) and reserve fund £53,628 (£38,400). Loans Advanced Loans advanced are £187,228 (£166,482) and loans repaid £164,499 (£132,868). Subscription and deposit withdrawals are £43,081 (£40,363) and subscriptions and deposits received £93,627 (£77,932). Fixed deposits are £42,632 higher at £128,141.

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Feb. 19. The Herald and Weekly Times, Ltd. has bought a controlling interest in South Pacific Post Proprietary, Ltd. and subsidiary companies. These companies publish in New Guinea the “South Pacific Post,” the “New Guinea Times Courier” and “Nu Gini Toktok.”
The papers circulate widely over the Territories.
Hume Interim.—Hume Industries, N.Z., Ltd., manufacturers of concrete and steel pipes, will pay an interim 2i per cent dividend on 5 per cent cumulative preference shares, and a steady interim 4 per cent dividend on ordinary shares, payable March 31, and ex-dividend March 22. (P.A.)
