GRADUATES’ CLUB
Application For Charter
The whole question of establishing a social club for university graduates in Christchurch rested entirely on whether the Licensing Control Commission would grant the University of Canterbury Association a club charter authorising it to sell and dispose of liquor, said Mr N. B. Ullrich, a member of the organising committee, vesterday. Mr Ullrich said the association had already applied to the commission for a charter. If this was granted, “flying squads” would immediately canvass the city for members and debenture money. Working plans have been completed for alterations to the former Velvet Glove restaurant in Worcester street which would be used for the club.
