CONCORD ACCORD
Production To Continue (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, February 16. Britain and France have agreed to go ahead with joint construction of the Concord supersonic airline project, including the prototypes and production line, a French Transport Ministry spokesman said yesterday. “The Concord programme has now been saved,” he said. “The British and French Governments have a good lead in this field and we are determined to maintain It.” No French comment was available last night on London reports that Britain considered the 1962 BritishFrench Concord agreement did not explicitly provide for production of the airliner. But the French position has always been that the agreement covered both development of prototypes and series production. The French Transport Minister, Mr Marc Jacquet, is flying to London for talks with Britain’s Aviation Minister, Mr Roy Jenkins, on the commercial future of Concord, for which 45 orders have so far been placed.
