SOCCER TOUR By RUSSIANS

(N.Z. Pref Auociation) AUCKLAND, February 17. The Auckland Football Association Board of Control tonight agreed to take over from the New Zealand Football Al>ociatlon negotiations to bring the Russian team, Torpedo, to Auckland next month. Mr C. J. Dempsey, chairman of the promotions committee, said that Australia would probably be prepared to co-operate with Auckland in bringing the Torpedo team to this country. Australia and Auckland would share expenses equally, and would distribute any profit from the match equally. After Mr Dempsey had teleponed Sydney and ascertained that Torpedo would almost certainly bo available to visit New Zealand after March 13, the board decided to negotiate with Australia and the Russians for two matches in Auckland.
