Particular fields of interest are: Development of analytical methods in association with neutron activation for trace element studies; Autoradiography; Identification and estimation of radionuclides in the atmosphere, rain and seawater for meteorological and oceanographic investigations. This Section has established an international reputation for the construction and operation of electronic equipment particularly in the studies of low background radioactivity. It is also actively engaged in the introduction of radioactive isotope techniques as aids in a wide range of industrial and agricultural problems. Appointees will participate in applications of recent developments in these fields.
