Barred From Her Sport

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 15. Anita Lonsbrough, British breaststroke swimmer who won an Olympic gold medal in Rome in 1960, has become a professional by swimming rules.

Miss Lonsbrough sacrificed her amateur status by accepting fees for television interviews.

An official of the British Amateur Swimming Association said today the association had had a letter from Miss Lonsbrough telling them that she had become a professional. “This of course bars her from competitive swimming at any level,” he said.
