The salary ranges at present are: Senior Lecturers: £A3250-£llO- - Lecturers: £A2400-£llO-£3170. Superannuation is on the F.S.S.U. pattern. Successful applicants will be expected to initiate independent research programmes and to supervise postgraduate research students; they will also assist in the development of integrated undergraduate courses in biology. Professor A. M. Clark (genetics and cell physiology) has been apointed Chairman of the School of Biological Sciences and Professor M. R. Atkinson (biochemistry), and Professor A. Hope (biophysics) have been appointed to the other initial professorial posts in the School. It is hoped that the emphasis in teaching and research will be on morphogenesis, control of growth, and the biophysical aspects of cell structure and function. Teaching will begin in 1966 with first-year undergraduates and post-gradu-ate students. The date at which the successful applicants will take up duty may be arranged with them after their appointment, but will preferably be in or about January, 1966. Applicants should have special interests in the field of Political Thought or Political Institutions. Two appointments will be made at Senior Lecturer/Lecturer level.
