Overcome By Gas

(N.Z. Press Association)

ROTORUA, Feb. 5. Two well-drillers were admitted to the Rotorua Hospital this morning after being overcome by a heavy concentration of hydrogen sulphide gas when a bore blew back at the rear of a plumber’s shop in Te Wairqa road, Rotorua. The men. both of Rotorua, are Clive King, aged 27, of Pukaki street and Allan McQuade, aged 36, of Manuka crescent.

Their condition is satisfactory.

Nearby workmen heard the bore blow up and saw the two men stagger groggily away, from the truck-mounted drilling rig.
