Dull Trading This Week

WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. There was dull trading on London’s Smithfield Meat Market this week, according to the Meat Board market information service.

There was the usual seasonal decline in prices for New Zealand lamb. The main grade (29-361 b was quoted about Id per lb below last week’s level.

There was a steady inquiry for New Zealand mutton. The main grade of hogget (49-561 b was at 17d per lb, and ewes at 15s to 15}d per lb. There was a slow inquiry for frozen beef. New Zealand g.a.q. ox hinds were at 27}d to 28d per lb and fores at 20d to 20}d per lb. New Zealand g.a.q. cow hinds were 26d per lb and fores 20d per lb.
