Cannot Be Beaten

(N.Z. Press Association) ASHBURTON, Feb. 4.

The recent controversy about the lowest cricket score in one innings ever to be recorded in New Zealand has been finally squashed by an Ashburton man today. The man, who does not wish to be named, captained the Borough school team which bowled out the Hampstead School XI for nil in the first Innings in the 1932-33 season.

This beats the original iowest-ever score claimed by Timaru Boys’ High School, which scored three runs in its first Innings in the match against Star on Saturday, and the total of two recorded by a Carisbrook team two years ago. The former Borough school captain said that he remembered only two bowlers were used in the game, but could recall no other details.
