Dr. Roger Bannister, the first sub-4min miler (above), has been Invited to serve on the Sports Council set up by the British Government to boost amateur sport. The council will advise the Government on the development of amateur sport and physical recreation and foster cooperation among local government authorities and voluntary sports bodies.
