‘Drugs’ Were A Hoax
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, Jan. 19. A Johannesburg boot trader said today he knew nothing about “special medicines” sent by air to London in his name for Sir Winston Churchill. Officials believe the consignment a tea-coloured liquid in fruit juice bottles—may have been a hoax. They were consigned in the name of Dr. Johannes Englebrecht, but the Mr Johannes Englebrecht who lives at the address given is in the boot trade and said he knew nothing about the consignment or about medicines. He added: “I would like to see Sir Winston Churchill recover but I couldn’t help him at all.”
