Astronaut Retires
f.VZ. Press Assn—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Jan. 5. Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Glenn yesterday retired from the Marine Corps to end a career that spanned two wars and one orbit of the earth. He is joining the board of a soft drink company at a reported salary of 30.000 to 40.000 dollars a year. A planned political career was cut short last year by an ear injury. He had intended running as a Democrat for a seat in the Senate. Colonel Glenn will continue as a paid consultant of the National Aeronautics and L Space Administration.
