RIGHTS NOT SOUGHT

Tasman Flights By Ansett

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Jan. 5.

No approach has been made to the Government by An-sett-A.NA. for trans-Tasman passenger rights. A Melbourne message said today that Ansett-A.N.A. planned to “go international,” and that the intention was to fly to Manila and New Zealand.

The Secretary of Civil Aviation (Mr B. R. Rae) today said no application from the Australian company has been received, nor was one expected. He said that before an application was made, permission to apply would have to be obtained from the Australian Government, and, as far as he knew, even this had not been sought.
