Government To Be Formed

The Nigerian Prime Minister, Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa. announced in a broadcast last night that he would form a broadly-based Government catering for all peoples of the country. Agreement on formation of the Government ended Nigeria’s six-day-old constitutional tussle following the first post-independence General Election. Speaking to the nation over Radio Nigeria after President Nnamdi Azikiwe had asked him to form a new Government, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa said: “I wish to confirm that we have now resolved our differences. “The thought which has been uppermost in our minds during these anxious days has been how to secure and maintain the stability of Nigeria."
