SUN STILL SHINES
Expected To Continue (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. Much of New Zealand basked in sun today. Fine weather is expected to continue for another two or three days, and temperatures are expected to remain about the same. There were scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms about the ranges in the North Island this afternoon and evening; isolated thunderstorms in the Marl-borough-Nelson district, and showers in Fiordland, Southland and Otago. The rest of New Zealand had warm, fine or partly cloudy weather. Two anti-cyclones—west of the North Island and south of the South Island—have been responsible for the fine spell. Wellington had a maximum temperature of 74 degrees today—eight degrees above the average for the time of year. Maximum temperatures in the other main centres, with the average daily maximum for December in parenthesis, were Auckland 71 (70); Dunedin 75 (66); Christchurch 73 (69).
The warmest place was Kaitaia (76).
