WOLF IN MADRID
Hungry After Heavy Snow (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MADRID, December 27. A hungry she-wolf walked into a populous section of Madrid on Christmas Eve but was spotted and shot by police before it could do any damage, police reported today, according to United Press International. Police said it was the first case on record of a wolf entering the city limits. In severe weather wolves from the nearby Guadarrama mountains sometimes prowl into outlying villages. The police said the shewolf had been driven out of the mountains by heavy snow and hunger.
