Race Flights Arranged

("From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Dec. 25. The Westport Jockey Club has completed negotiations with the National Airways Corporation tor the transport of passengers and horses by air from the North Island to the club’s next meeting at Patterson Park on February 20 and 22. Present arrangements are for the aircraft to leave Rongotai at 9 a.m. on the first day of the meeting and to leave Westport at 6.30 p.m. on the evening of the second day. The transport will be able to carry eight horses and the passenger plane will carry about 26 passengers. The Westport Jockey Club is hopeful that these arrangements will induce some of the better performed open class horses in the Wellington and Otaki areas to make the trip and also maiden and hack performers.
