Blood Identification

The colours of A and B group blood donors’ identification cards issued by the North Canterbury Blood Transfusion Service are being switched to conform to international practice. In future, group A donors will have yellow cards and group B donors pink cards. Another standardisation procedure newly adopted by the service is in the labelling of its blood bottles: identical labels are to be used by all transfusion services in New Zealand.
