HOSPITAL FOR AGED

Govt. Subsidy Approved (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 22. A 40-bed hospital for the aged sick at the Lady Allum Home, Takapuna, is to be subsidised by the Government up to a maximum of £120,000. This was announced today by the member for North Shore, the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre). Mr Eyre said he had been advised by the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) that the subsidy would supplement a grant of £115,200 to the Presbyterian Social Service Association for a 48-bed home approved last year. It was expected that the home and hospital would be completed in three years, said Mr Eyre.
