Flight From U.S.

A Piper Aztec aircraft for use in Wellington as an air I ambulance is expected to arrive in Christchurch from the United States towards the middle of next month. It is expected to fly direct to Christchurch from Fiji on' the last leg of a 70-hour delivery journey across the Prcific. The five-seater twin engine aircraft has been ordered by] the Wellington Aero Club,: and will be adapted for ambulance work by Airwork (NZ), Ltd., at Harewood. Mr C. H. Brazier, the firm's i managing director, said yesterday that a stretcher and oxygen bottle would be built into the aircraft. There would be room for the pilot and two passengers as well as the patient. He said the aircraft cruised at about 190 m.p.h. It would have the latest type of radio compasses fitted in the United States to make it suitable for instrument flying.
