WOMAN’S DEATH
Investigation By Police (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 16. Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman at Takanini on August 23. The dead woman is Mrs Janet Bell Greenhorn, aged 54, a widow and former mental patient who lived at Beach road, Takanini, from January till her death. Inquiries began after a post-mortem examination of the body soon after death. By Coroner’s order it was withheld from cremation and certain organs were subjected [to analysis by D.S.I.R. scientists. The result of these tests became known recently. Detective - Superintendent M. J. Ross assigned a squad of specialist detectives to a provincial-wide inquiry. Detective - Superintendent Ross said today he could not comment on the inquiry at this stage other than to confirm that it has a top priority.
