The assistant general secretary of the New Zealand National Council of Churches (the Rev. R. M. O’Grady) will visit Australia for three weeks in February. He will attend the annual meeting of the Australian Council of Churches in Sydney and will study the work of the resettlement department of the A.C.C. in Sydney and Melbourne. Mr O’Grady will become the resettlement officer for the N.C.C. when the present officer (Miss A. Bonde) returns to Europe. Mr W. A. Sharp, manager of the Egmont ElectricPower Board, will retire on December 31 after 46 years’ service. He joined the Dunedin City Council electric light and power department in 1918, moved to the Opunake Electric-Power Board in 1933 and to the South Taranaki Board in 1936—(P.A.) Dr. J. R. E. Dobson, psychiatric physician to the North Canterbury Hospital Board, has been appointed also honorary visiting psychiatrist to Sunnyside Hospital.
