The No. 9 Transport Authority (Mr J. S. Haywood) on Monday adjourned the hearing of three applications for a new taxi licence at Lyttelton until next year. Mr Haywood heard long evidence on the financial situation of one of the applicants, Ivan Healey. Mr A. Hearn appeared for Healey, who was cross-examined by Mr G. S. Brockett, counsel for the six licensees at present in Lyttelton. Mr Brockett also called evidence on the present taxi position in Lyttelton from T. Hogg, S. C. Hibbard, and D. R. Muir.
