Appointments With Doctors
Sir, — The correspondents who wrote about appointments with doctors seem to forget that each patient is an individual and receives individual attention. Cases must vary tremendously and I daresay that even a doctor could not say in advance just how much of his time each patient will need. If he is ill enough to visit a doctor surely a wait when necessary is of little consequence and should be anticipated. Would we be satisfied if the doctors just ran their patients through like sausages from a machine, with no thought of care for the individual, as does happen in some countries. As a patient of many years and of a number of doctors I say let us be grateful that our doctors are conscientious and careful, particularly so, because in Rangiora, at least,
they are all very hardworked.—Yours, etc., SATISFIED. Rangiora, December 6, 1964. [This correspondence may now cease.—Ed., “The Press.”]
