SUSPENDED FOR MONTH

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, Dec. 13. P. C. Gallagher’s driver’s licence was suspended for one month for careless driving at the Waimate Trotting Club’s annual meeting on Saturday. This action was taken after an inquiry was held into the breaking of Loyal Hanover (M. Holmes) in the Waimate Cup. Evidence was heard from Holmes, Gallagher (the driver of Stormy Lad) and the stipendiary stewards. Balfour Chimes broke badly during the Waimate Cup and Interfered with Battlefield. It was found that Balfour Chimes touched the sulky of Watt Tyler, which then broke. An inquiry was held into the accident, which involved Misty Haze and Syncom in the Jim Boa Memorial Handicap. After hearing M. Holmes (the driver of Misty Haze) and I. S. Sutherland (the driver of Waitaki Smoke), it was found that Waiitaki Smoke broke badly and checked Misty Haze, which in turn checked Syncom (R. Young). Both Misty Haze and Syncom lost their drivers.
