Applicants will be required to carry out surveys, determine alignment, draw up plans, take off quantities and prepare contract documents: they must be single and should be between 25-35 years of age: they should possess an engineering degree and have preferably at least five years’ experience. There will be two tours of 18 months each with three months' paid leave at the end of each tour. Basic salary will be from £lB5O per annum and will be reviewed at the end of the first tour. In addition to the basic salary the following allowances will be paid: £2O per month bush allowance, where sub-standard accommodation is provided during field work: free transport, including all running costs: free accommodation, including hard furnishings; free medical attention; kit allowance of £35; bonus of £225 at the end of each tour. Tourist class return sea fares will be paid between New Zealand and England, and economy class air fares between England and West Africa at the beginning and end of each 18 months’ tour.
