GAME FISH CATCHES

Tauranga And Whangaroa (N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Nov. 9. The first game fish of the New Zealand season, which opened on November 1, has been weighed in by the Whangaroa Swordfish and Big-Game Fish Club. On Saturday Mr B. Beveridge, of Whangaroa, caught a 1441 b mako shark On the boat, Tuatahi (Eric Petford).

A Tauranga report says the second mako shark of the season was caught off Mayor Island by Mr J. Nolan (Wanganui) on Saturday. The fish weighed 2571 b. Mr Nolan and his party were part of a group of 14 chiropractors visiting the island on an organised trip.
