DISPERSAL SALE
Top Price Of 750Gns
Top price of 750 guineas was realised by a two-year-old gelding by Garrison Hanover from Largesse at the dispersal sale of horses owned by the Templeton trainer, C. R. Berkett, yesterday. The gelding, a natural pacer, was purchased by Wright Stephenson and Company, Ltd., of Sydney, as agents. The gelding is a halfbrother to Real Song, Dark Glory and Fine Day. The Riccarton trainer, J. S. Shaw, as agent, paid 700 guineas for a grand yearling colt by Hi Lo’s Forbes from the U. Scott mare, Miranda Scott.
The Addington trainer, W. K. Tatterson, as agent, made two purchases. He paid 230 guineas for a two-year-old bay filly by Dillon Hall from Wendy Grattan, and 440 guineas for a three-year-old filly by Smokey Hanover from Miranda Scott. The only other lot to realise a three-figure sum was the brood mare, Miranda Scott, which had a filly foal at foot by Garrison Hanover. She was purchased by Mrs M. and Mr A. J. Cunningham, of Halswell, for 210 guineas. The sale was conducted by National Mortgage and Agency Company, of New Zealand, Ltd., in conjunction with Wright Stephenson and Company, Ltd.
