Jones To Miss N.Z. Open
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, November 9. The national amateur golf champion, S. G. Jones, of Hastings, confirmed today that he would not be playing in the New Zealand Open at Christchurch later this month. “I’ve never had any intention of playing in the open,” he said. “I just can’t afford the time.”
The only sponsored tournament he would play in this season, he said, would be that at Hastings.
