Swab From Sir Dane
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Nov. 6. The swab taken from Sir Dane following his unplaced run in last Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup at Flemington has proved negative. A report on the swab was received by Victorian Racing Club officials at noon today. A swab of Sir Dane was ordered when he finished well back in the cup field. He had gone to the barrier a shortpriced favourite for the twomile race. T.A.B. To Open (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 6. The first five Sydney branches of the Totalisator Agency Board will open for business on Wednesday, December 9. They will take bets on the race meeting at Canterbury that day.
