THIS CAR TRANSPORTER, the first of its kind in New Zealand, was put into service by E. H. Boyce and Company, Ltd., yesterday. The “cartran” has an over-all length of 50ft, and is a double-decker. It can carry eight small cars, six medium, or four large. The trailer was designed and manufactured in Christchurch by Boyce’s and the Trailer Manufacturing Company, Ltd. The “cartran” will operate between Christchurch and Lyttelton through the tunnel.
