New South Wales has selected two newcomers to Sheffield Shield cricket for its first match of the season, against Western Australia, on November 13. They are B. Taber, aged 24, who takes over from the retired D. Ford as wicketkeeper, and D. Renneberg, a 6ft 2in fast bowler. Both play in Sydney Grade cricket. Three members of Australia’s touring team, B. C. Booth, N. C. O’Neill and J. Martin, are not available for the match.
