WAGE RISES GRANTED

Borough Council

Clerks

Increased wages for clerks employed by borough councils in Canterbury are contained in an award issued by the Court of Arbitration and embodying the terms reached in conciliation. The councils are Ashburton, Geraldine, Kaiapoi, Lyttelton, Rangiora, Riccarton, Temuka, and Waimate. Increases for males range from £l6 to £32 a year, and for females from £l6 to £42. Alterations are made to the bonuses for qualifications. Workers receiving £1354 a year are excluded from the award. The increases are effective on the first day of the pay period on or after October 1.
